La. High Court Squashes Delinquent Taxpayer Fees

Law360, New York (January 28, 2014, 5:21 PM EST) -- The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the city of New Orleans cannot impose a penalty and collection fee against individuals who are delinquent on their property taxes or use private entities to collect the taxes, saying the provisions violate the state constitution.
