Chobani Can't Call Its Yogurt 'Greek' In UK, Court Rules

Law360, Chicago (January 28, 2014, 9:11 PM EST) -- A U.K. appeals court on Tuesday upheld a decision barring Chobani Inc. from labeling its yogurt as “Greek” in the U.K., agreeing with a lower court that marketing the U.S.-made yogurt as such was misleading to consumers.

A three-judge panel issued a decision dismissing Chobani’s appeal, which had challenged an injunction against the company's "Greek" labeling won by rival yogurt-maker Fage Dairy Industry SA in March.
