Give Fed. Circ. Fresh Look At Fee Awards, Justices Told

Law360, New York (January 29, 2014, 6:04 PM EST) -- The Federal Circuit is in the best position to determine whether patent owners should have to pay attorneys' fees for bringing "baseless" infringement suits and shouldn't have to defer to lower courts on appeal, the Intellectual Property Owners Association told the U.S. Supreme Court in a Friday in a brief in a case involving health insurer Highmark Inc.
