NAD Sends Chicken Of The Sea's Dolphin-Safe Claims To FTC

Law360, New York (January 30, 2014, 3:22 PM EST) -- The National Advertising Division said Thursday it has turned over its investigation into Chicken of the Sea Inc. advertising claims to the Federal Trade Commission after the company declined to cooperate with the industry watchdog.

Several claims made by Chicken of the Sea regarding its tuna products were challenged by the Animal Legal Defense Fund, including the company’s statements that it is an environmentally responsible business that practices sustainability, and that its tuna is “dolphin-safe.”
