5th Circ. Sides With Texas DA's Office Accused Of Racism

Law360, New York (February 3, 2014, 6:45 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit on Friday dismissed a suit against Denton County, Texas, brought by an African-American assistant district attorney who alleged she was exposed to a racially hostile work environment, saying the county took sufficient steps to remedy the harassing conduct.

The appeals court reversed the district court’s denial of summary judgment regarding Nadiya Williams-Boldware’s hostile work environment claim, effectively eliminating the one remaining $170,000 jury award for past mental pain and suffering.
