Entegris Puts Up $1B For Rival Semiconductor Supplier ATMI

Law360, New York (February 4, 2014, 12:41 PM EST) -- Massachusetts-based Entegris Inc. will buy Connecticut-headquartered ATMI Inc. for $1.15 billion, the companies said Tuesday, bringing together two rival suppliers in semiconductor industry in a deal they expect to benefit both sides.

The all-cash deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2014, and will be funded through a combination of existing cash and additional debt. The $1.15 billion price tag is equivalent to $34 per share, which represents a premium of 26.3 percent to ATMI's closing price on Feb. 3, 2014.
