Fla. Agency Upholds Award Of $1B Medicaid Contract

Law360, Miami (February 4, 2014, 6:20 PM EST) -- Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration has moved forward with its award of a $1 billion contract to Prestige Health Choice to provide Medicaid coverage in South Florida, overriding the findings of an administrative law judge who concluded the company did not qualify.

In a final order issued Friday, AHCA Secretary Elizabeth Dudek disagreed with Judge John Van Laningham's Jan. 2 recommended order that said the agency should rescind its proposed award to Prestige on the grounds that it does not qualify as a provider service...
