Citgo Fined $2M Over Refinery Emissions, Bird Deaths

Law360, New York (February 6, 2014, 5:18 PM EST) -- A Texas federal judge on Wednesday fined Citgo Petrolem Corp. over $2 million, a sentence stemming from the petroleum giant's 2007 convictions for illegally operating uncovered oil tanks at its Corpus Christi refinery and intentionally letting migratory birds die in the tanks.
