Accenture Won't Hand Over $44M Jury Award, Wellogix Says

Law360, New York (February 6, 2014, 4:45 PM EST) -- Accenture LLP has refused to pay a $44.4 million verdict entered against it by a jury and upheld on appeal for allegedly stealing software maker Wellogix Inc.'s trade secrets, the company said in a motion filed in Texas federal court Wednesday.

Wellogix told U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison that Accenture was resisting handing over the damages even after the Fifth Circuit affirmed jurors' finding that the Irish consulting firm misappropriated its technology and reneged on a business deal the companies had struck.
