SolarWorld Urges Crackdown On Chinese Trade Practices

Law360, New York (February 6, 2014, 6:53 PM EST) -- SolarWorld AG on Wednesday pressed President Barack Obama to support the company's efforts to combat Chinese subsidies and other “predatory” trade practices, saying China's actions threaten to destroy the U.S. solar industry's place in the global solar energy market.

In a letter to Obama, SolarWorld CEO Frank Asbeck said that China has over the past few years subsidized its own solar manufacturing industry, while cutting out U.S. and other foreign competitors from the Chinese market and driving down prices to “unsustainable levels.” The SolarWorld chief said...
