Tax Foundation Says Land Tax Could Replace All Other Levies

Law360, New York (February 7, 2014, 2:43 PM EST) -- A tax code that taxes nothing except land would require a 32 percent tax rate, a leader of the nonpartisan Tax Foundation said Thursday.

Joseph Henchman, the foundation's vice president of legal and state projects, said that exclusively taxing land value would allow for the abolishment of sales taxes, payroll taxes, income taxes and every other levy that the left and right are fighting over.
