Judge Denies Ex-Gemstar Exec Plea Bargain

Law360 (January 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Former Gemstar CEO Henry Yuen’s plea bargain, which raised cries of protest for its relative leniency, has been denied by a judge, sending the executive and federal prosecutors back to the bargaining table.

In rejecting the sentence, Judge John Walter said the plea bargain “failed to reflect the seriousness of the offense."
