Corbett Says Judge's Errors Doomed Pa. Voter ID Law

Law360, New York (February 10, 2014, 10:10 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett in a Monday brief continued his defense of the state’s controversial voter ID law, saying Judge Bernard McGinley’s Jan. 17 decision finding the law unconstitutional used an improper constitutional standard and misread the statute.

The 67-page brief follows Corbett’s post-trial motion last month to set aside the decision of Judge McGinley granting a permanent injunction that bars the law from taking effect after a nearly three-week trial in July.
