Christie Campaign Can Spend Funds On 'Bridgegate' Costs

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 4:44 PM EST) -- New Jersey’s election finance regulator ruled Tuesday that Gov. Chris Christie’s re-election campaign can raise and spend funds for its response to subpoenas issued in the “Bridgegate” scandal, while expressing concerns about funds being used for an inquiry with potential criminal implications.

The state’s Election Law Enforcement Committee approved a request from Chris Christie for Governor Inc., Christie’s re-election campaign, that sought permission to spend the roughly $126,000 it has in cash on hand, as well as raise more, to fund its response to subpoenas....
