Cuomo Launches NY Green Energy Development Bank

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 4:06 PM EST) -- New York's Green Bank, a $1 billion renewable energy lending program, launched in the state on Tuesday, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, one of the bank's architects.

The bank will issue requests for proposals, looking for green developers and financial institutions interested in financing them. New York's regulators approved initial public funding of $210 million for the program in December. The Green Bank hopes to see the rest from private investors in the future.
