Ex-Harbinger Exec Close To Pact With SEC In Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 4:42 PM EST) -- The former chief operating officer of Harbinger Capital Partners LLC is close to reaching a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in a fraud suit that the hedge fund and owner Philip Falcone previously settled for $18 million, according to a Tuesday court filing.

An attorney for Peter A. Jenson asked a New York federal judge to delay by two weeks a Feb. 13 court hearing “so that the parties may continue ongoing discussions on possible settlement.” His co-defendants, Harbinger and Falcone, admitted wrongdoing...
