Ex-New Orleans Mayor Nagin Found Guilty Of Corruption

Law360, Los Angeles (February 12, 2014, 2:55 PM EST) -- A Louisiana federal jury on Wednesday found former New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin guilty on charges he accepted bribes and kickbacks for city contracts, convicting him on all but one of 21 indicted counts.

Following a seven-day trial, the jury deliberated for a little more than six hours total before returning with a verdict against the two-term mayor early Wednesday afternoon, court records show.
