Rolls-Royce, Lockheed Ink $1B Airplane Engine Deal

Law360, New York (February 12, 2014, 12:09 PM EST) -- British engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC said Wednesday it has struck a $1 billion deal with aerospace defense and technology company Lockheed Martin Corp. to design approximately 600 engines that will power a new wave of military airplanes.

The agreement, which will run through 2018, ensures that all versions of the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft will be equipped with Rolls-Royce's AE 2100 engine.
