HP License Marks Victory for Tiny Calif. Company

Law360, New York (January 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Netting its biggest fish to date, Patriot Scientific Corporation has sold Hewlett-Packard a license to use intellectual property protected by the Moore Microprocessor Patent Portfolio, which the Southern California company owns jointly with the TPL Group.

The move makes HP the first system manufacturer to purchase an agreement to use the patents. The deal is not only a victory for the IP holding company, but also the ultimate reward for its aggressive pursuit of licensing agreements with big players in the electronic market.
