Film Tax Credits Bring Hollywood Glitz, At A Cost

Law360, New York (February 14, 2014, 3:26 PM EST) -- When producers of "The Dark Knight Rises" decided to film their 2012 blockbuster in Pittsburgh, the production received tens of millions of dollars in tax breaks from state and local governments. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl championed his city’s selection as a coup that would bring new jobs and money to the region.

“This is another example of the growing film industry in our community,” he told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “And we will be rolling out the red carpet for them.”
