FTC's Ohlhausen Pushes For Targeted 'Troll' Enforcement

Law360, Washington (February 13, 2014, 5:37 PM EST) -- Federal Trade Commissioner Maureen K. Ohlhausen suggested on Thursday that the commission should use targeted enforcement actions to curb deceptive patent assertion entity activity, claiming the careful actions could alleviate substantial consumer and small-business harms.

Rather than moving forward with sweeping congressional legislation or broad enforcement measures, Ohlhausen advocated taking a narrower approach to PAE concerns until the commission gathers more information on their business practices and models.
