HCA Settles Fla. Nurse's Whistleblower False Claims Suit

Law360, New York (February 13, 2014, 7:26 PM EST) -- Hospital Corp. of America struck a settlement in Florida federal court Thursday, resolving a nurse's false claims suit accusing it of defrauding patients and wrongfully firing her after she tried to act against her superiors' decisions.

The court dismissed Marne Simpson's wrongful termination claim with prejudice and the fraud claim without prejudice, per the terms of the settlement.
