GE Unit Hit With $1.2M Suit Over Fire Cleanup

Law360, New York (March 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A division of GE Oil & Gas Inc. has been slapped with a lawsuit claiming a defective gas compressor ignited a fire at a natural gas production facility, resulting in $1.2 million in cleanup and removal costs.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas by Valerus Compression Services LP and Commonwealth Insurance Co., centers on a Gemini GE F504 model gas compression unit manufactured by GE Oil & Gas, a subsidiary of General Electric Corp.
