Wash. Pols Unveil $12B Transportation Plan, Gas Tax Hike

Law360, New York (February 14, 2014, 2:57 PM EST) -- A coalition of Washington senators on Thursday unveiled a $12.2 billion transportation package that includes a proposal to increase the state's gasoline tax by 11.5 cents over three years in order to help fund construction of freeways and roads.

The proposal would also bring changes to the way Washington currently funds infrastructure improvements and would provide $6.5 billion to help complete several transportation projects, including the North-South Freeway in Spokane and the Puget Sound Gateway.
