Hayman Capital Discloses $200M Purchase of GM Shares

Law360, New York (February 14, 2014, 5:09 PM EST) -- Dallas-based asset manager Hayman Capital Management LP invested close to $200 million in General Motors Corp. in the fourth quarter of last year, the fund said in a regulatory filing Friday.

The fund, founded by J. Kyle Bass in December 2005, spent $188 million to purchase over 4.6 million shares in the Detroit-based automaker in addition to $12 million worth of call options during the fourth quarter of 2013, according to a quarterly disclosure to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
