Alleged Debt-Reduction Schemer Escapes Suit, Will Cooperate

Law360, New York (February 18, 2014, 5:05 PM EST) -- A Minnesota federal judge on Tuesday preliminarily approved CDS Client Services Inc.’s settlement of a class action accusing it and Legal Helpers Debt Resolution LLC of coordinating a debt settlement scheme that soaked thousand of dollars out of each consumer.

Under the agreement, the plaintiffs will drop their claims against CDS in exchange for its cooperation in providing descriptions of the alleged actions, producing relevant documents, providing declarations and affidavits, and supplying deposition testimony as necessary in the ongoing suit against LHDR.
