NY Court Upholds Suit Over Fire Death From Floor Finish

Law360, New York (February 19, 2014, 4:01 PM EST) -- Affirming a lower court's decision, a New York appeals court ruled Tuesday that the distributor and seller of floor-refinishing products should face a wrongful death lawsuit claiming they failed to adequately warn a construction worker of the products' flammability.

The case centers on Jose Carino, who was working to refinish floors in a New York City apartment building when the apartment suddenly caught fire. Carino suffered severe burns and died weeks after the fire occurred.
