Judge Upholds $1.3M Arbitration Award Against LIRR

Law360 (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has enforced an arbitration award for the union that represents locomotive engineers with the Long Island Rail Road Company, ruling that the company must pay $1.3 million in disputed claims for unpaid compensation.

U.S. District Judge Dora L. Irizarry of the Eastern District of New York affirmed the award Monday with an order denying the LIRR's motion to dismiss the case for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.
