Enfamil Maker Starts FCPA Probe Into China Unit

Law360, Los Angeles (February 19, 2014, 6:31 PM EST) -- Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. revealed in a Form 10-K filing Wednesday that it has hired outside counsel to investigate the business activities of its Chinese subsidiary, saying certain expenditures violated company policy and may have violated the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The announcement comes after Mead Johnson, which makes Enfamil and other nutritional milk products, said in October that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was investigating the child nutrition company’s Chinese subsidiary after a separate agency found the company inflated Chinese formula prices.
