Va. Urged To Revamp Plan For $244M Highway Project

Law360, New York (February 20, 2014, 3:41 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation on Tuesday told Virginia Transportation Commissioner Charlie Kilpatrick that he should update his agency's proposed plan for a controversial $244 million highway bypass in Charlottesville.

Environmentalists and local residents opposed to the plan called the letter a blow against the Route 29 project but the Virginia Department of Transportation said that it's not backing down from the plan and will work on another revision over the next 30 days.
