Obama Touts TPP Benefits With Mexican, Canadian Leaders

Law360, New York (February 20, 2014, 3:22 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama and his counterparts from Mexico and Canada on Wednesday agreed to do more to strengthen trade ties and committed to closing a Trans-Pacific Partnership deal that would include strong labor and environmental protections.

Following a leadership meeting in Toluca, Mexico, between the U.S., Mexican and Canadian heads of state, Obama said that a focus of the day's discussions was promoting North America's competitiveness within the global economy, in part by “making it easier to trade.”
