Obama Admin Finalizes ACA 90-Day Insurance Wait Limit

Law360, Washington (February 20, 2014, 8:03 PM EST) -- The Obama administration issued a final rule under the Affordable Care Act on Thursday that requires employers to provide health insurance to new hires within 90 days of their eligibility.

The new rule is due to be published in the Federal Register on Monday. Under its provisions, employers can still require employees to complete a certain number of hours — up to 1,200 — before they become eligible for health insurance. But any employer-ordered requirements must be completed during that 90-day window, the administration said....
