Patent Troll Legislation Has Chance Despite Election

Law360, New York (February 20, 2014, 9:05 PM EST) -- Despite high partisan tension and the upcoming mid-term elections, Congress still may manage to pass patent legislation, given the heightened interest in patent trolls, a Senate antitrust staffer said Thursday.

While four top attorneys for the U.S. House and Senate antitrust subcommittees voiced limited hope for much legislation being passed during an American Bar Association Antitrust Section teleconference on Congress' antitrust agenda in 2014, they didn't rule out the possibility of seeing movement on patent reform measures or an antitrust whistleblower protection bill.
