SEC Taps WilmerHale Atty To Lead Trading And Markets Unit

Law360, New York (February 21, 2014, 1:04 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has named a WilmerHale partner and former Financial Industry Regulatory Authority vice chairman as director of its Trading and Markets Division, it announced Thursday.

As director of the SEC's Division of Trading and Markets, Stephen Luparello will be responsible for regulating major securities market participants, including broker-dealers, credit rating agencies, transfer agents and self-regulatory organizations such as stock exchanges, FINRA, and clearing agencies, according to the SEC.
