SD Legislature Joins Clamoring For TRIA Extension

Law360, New York (February 21, 2014, 6:06 PM EST) -- The South Dakota Legislature on Wednesday passed a resolution urging President Barack Obama and Congress to keep alive a federal terrorism reinsurance program set to expire at the end of the year, boosting proponents' claims that the program doesn't just benefit urban centers.

The resolution calls for a reauthorization of the federal backstop set up under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, which Congress passed to make terrorism coverage widely available again after the 9/11 terrorist attacks sent insurers fleeing from the space.
