Claims Deadline For Madoff Victim Fund Extended

Law360, Los Angeles (February 21, 2014, 8:59 PM EST) -- The deadline for victims of Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme to seek compensation from a $4 billion fund set up by the U.S. government has been extended by two months, authorities announced Friday.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara in Manhattan and Richard Breeden, the special master administering the Madoff Victim Fund on behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice, said the claims deadline has been extended to April 30 from the original date of Feb. 28.
