USPTO Takes Second Look At Lumenis Patents

Law360, New York (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Following a nudge from Alma Lasers Ltd., the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has decided to take a second look at the patents held by Lumenis Ltd., thereby putting a freeze on the duo's courtroom wrangling over laser-based cosmetic treatment systems.

On Wednesday, Alma revealed that the USPTO was currently re-examining all seven of the Lumenis patents at the heart of the litigation that has been unfolding for months in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
