Feds Zero In On “Warez” Groups, Score Guilty Pleas

Law360, New York (January 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a bid to clamp down on “warez” groups involved in illegal distribution of movies, games, music and software over the Internet, the U.S. government has indicted more suspects in a far-reaching investigation.

A 13-count indictment handed down by a federal grand jury in San Jose Wednesday raised to 25 the total number of suspected virtual copyright thieves charged in "Operation Copycat."
