High Court Won't Hear Citgo Appeal In $180M Oil Spill Case

Law360, New York (February 24, 2014, 3:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to take up a $180 million oil spill liability suit against Citgo Petroleum Co. brought by the federal government and a pair of shipping companies, ignoring the oil company’s argument that its responsibility for ensuring a safe berth was limited to the immediate entrance of its Philadelphia-area port.
