Cosan Offers $3B For Brazilian Railroad Operator ALL

Law360, New York (February 24, 2014, 5:38 PM EST) -- Brazilian sugar and ethanol giant Cosan SA Industria e Comercio offered to buy railroad and logistics company ALL - America Latina Logistica SA for 6.96 billion reais ($2.98 billion) Monday in an all-Brazil, all-stock deal, according to a regulatory filing.

The deal, which values ALL at a 56 percent premium on Friday's close, would put a close to Sao Paulo-based Cosan's two-year-long quest to acquire ALL and would give Cosan the potential to increase its already strong market hold on sugar transport.
