Victims' Families Sue Brazilian Airline Over Crash

Law360, New York (March 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Families of passengers killed in Brazil's worst airline disaster — a July 2007 crash that killed 199 people — have filed suit against TAM Airlines and other firms associated with aircraft maintenance and training.

Lawyers for the families filed 59 wrongful death complaints Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. They are seeking a jury trial to recover financial damages for pain and suffering, lost life, funeral expenses and other damages, said the plaintiffs' law firm, Podhurst Orseck PA.
