5th Circ. Axes State Claims Over BP Deepwater Horizon Spill

Law360, New York (February 25, 2014, 4:34 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit refused to revive state law claims against BP PLC and others over pollution-related wildlife damage linked to the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill, ruling Monday that the allegations were preempted by federal law.
