S. Korea Ends Antitrust Probe Of Samsung Patent Suits

Law360, New York (February 27, 2014, 8:02 PM EST) -- South Korea's antitrust enforcer on Wednesday closed its investigation into Apple Inc.'s claims that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. anti-competitively sued to block the iPhone maker from selling its products with standard essential wireless patents.

The Korean Fair Trade Commission concluded that Samsung's patent enforcement efforts did not violate the country's antitrust law, putting the watchdog in opposition with enforcers in the U.S. and the European Union who have raised concerns about Samsung's conduct.
