EIB Floats $206M Loan For Proposed Belgium Tram Line

Law360, New York (February 27, 2014, 5:12 PM EST) -- The European Investment Bank on Thursday is considering providing Belgium with a €150 million ($206 million) loan to fund construction of infrastructure for a tram line system in the city of Antwerp.

The EIB, which did not disclose the overall cost of the Brabo 2 Tram Antwerp project, said that the financing is still under consideration and that the proposed EIB financing is still subject to negotiation.

The project proposed by Belgium will include the construction of 7.4 km, or 4.6 miles, of double-track tram infrastructure...
