Dow Chemical Leak Case Is Moved To Federal Court

Law360, New York (March 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- At the urging of Dow Chemical Co., a proposed class action by a group of Louisiana residents who claim they suffered personal injuries and property damages due to a chemical leak at one of the company's plants has been removed to federal court.

Dow had asked to transfer the case from a judicial district court in St. Charles Parish, La., to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana because the designation of class membership in the plaintiffs' petition encompasses “thousands of individuals.”...
