Pa. Hospital Sued Over Breach Of Employee Data

Law360, New York (February 28, 2014, 3:39 PM EST) -- The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center was hit with a putative class action Thursday in Pennsylvania court by employees who say the facility failed to protect their personal data, which was stolen by crooks in a massive identity theft heist.

Lead plaintiffs Barbara A. Dittman and Gary R. Douglas filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that criminals stole their Social Security numbers, names and addresses and used the data to file fraudulent tax returns and open bank accounts in their names...
