Insurer Denies Owing Coverage In $3M Solar Project Row

Law360, New York (March 3, 2014, 5:01 PM EST) -- Southern-Owners Insurance Co. slapped several contractors and a project management company with a declaratory suit in Florida federal court on Friday, claiming it doesn’t owe coverage for an underlying lawsuit over at least $3 million worth of damage at a solar power project.

The insurer argues that an umbrella policy issued to project management company Solarsink LLC does not extend to property damage caused by a failure to supervise work performed by contractors Whitley Contracting Inc., Meeks & Son Inc. and HD Supply Power Solutions Ltd....
