US Nixes Russia Trade Talks After Move Into Ukraine's Crimea

Law360, New York (March 3, 2014, 4:48 PM EST) -- The U.S. is suspending upcoming trade and investment talks with Russia in response to the country’s military occupation of Ukraine’s Crimea region, the U.S. Trade Representative announced Monday.

"Due to recent events in Ukraine, we have suspended upcoming bilateral trade and investment engagement with the government of Russia that were part of a move toward deeper commercial and trade ties,” a spokesman for U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said Monday.
