DTV Transition Will Kill Low-Power TV Industry: Suit

Law360, New York (March 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. government's plan to shift broadcasting from analog to digital — the largest shift since color television — will effectively kill the low-power television industry, according to a suit filed on Wednesday.

The Community Broadcasters Association, which represents U.S. low-power television stations, asked the Federal Communications Commission in a petition to ban all digital set-top converter boxes that cannot receive an analog signal.
