2 Calif. Sens. Take Leaves Amid Bribery, Voting Scandals

Law360, Los Angeles (March 3, 2014, 10:54 PM EST) -- Two California state senators are taking leaves of absence in the wake of bribery, fraud and voting scandals that have them in the sights of federal prosecutors, effectively costing state Democrats their supermajority.

Sen. Rod Wright on Feb. 25 took a paid leave of absence and dodged being fully ousted when his colleagues refused to fully dismiss him despite having been convicted of eight felonies in January.
